The Daisy Difference

Our retreats are intensive for a very important reason. Research shows that learning (or conditioning) is best facilitated when it is done in a massed, repeated way. The Daisy Retreat programme allows our clients to complete in eight days what would traditionally take months of weekly therapy sessions. The UK National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) states that the average number of hours of CBT required for generalized anxiety disorders, for example, is 16–20 hours in total. That would require approximately four months of weekly sessions.

During your retreat, you will have your daily session 1:1 session CBT sessions with the Clinical Psychologist (1.5–2 hours each day), plus your Mindfulness Meditation Therapy and Yoga sessions. Yoga classes may be shared with other clients of the resort. CBT requires "homework", so clients have quite a bit of time on their own, doing the homework, relaxing, journaling, reading, doing some artwork — this is intensive, reflective work and it's important that clients are aware of the time they will dedicate to their healing, outside of the daily CBT sessions.

Please also know that we ask our clients to discuss their coming for a retreat with their existing health care practitioner, if they seeing one. We are not a hospital or a clinic, nor do we have doctors or nurses on our team. We offer an intensive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy programme in a natural environment that is conducive to healing.

Kindness, care and support

The Daisy Retreat / Choices Retreats programme is the only retreat of its kind in Southeast Asia, providing an integrated CBT approach with Mindfulness Meditation techniques and yoga. Clients have told us that after much time searching for just the right treatment at an affordable price, there is nowhere else in the world that offers a programme quite like ours. We know first–hand the feelings of vulnerability that can arise when beginning new, never–before–tried experiences. Our desire is that our clients always feel secure and supported and we stop at nothing to make that a reality.
